KO LANTA, Thailand - Brie futures closed at a record on Tuesday as willpower among Long Beach residents fell to its lowest level since the index began in 2023, the year a delicatessen opened on the island's main road.

The move followed reports, first carried on a community forum, of a new cheese on the left side of the fridge. Volume spiked within minutes. Trading was halted briefly at 10:40 when the exchange's only analyst was offered a taste.

“The brie is very good and the walk is short. We see no catalyst for a reversal before Monday.”

Sourdough was the session's only decliner. Analysts attributed the weakness to buyers who arrived for bread and left without it.

Willpower is expected to open lower.
